If you are interested in volunteering in Erie's Public Schools , this clinic will help you acquire your required clearances with ease. Volunteers who attend will complete the following clearances on-site at no cost- FBI fingerprinting, PA Child Abuse History Clearance and PA State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance.

Updates from McKinley and Union City Elementary School Principals and Community School Directors highlighting data from the Annual Progress Reports, updates on each schools’ student leadership programs and the success as well as the impact of family engagement events. The Union City team will focus on their progress as a Community School now in year 3; and the McKinley team will focus on their progress as a Community School now in year 8.

The impact of Experiential Learning on student success presented by Chris Fox, Community School Director at Diehl Elementary. Experience Matters - what is Experiential Learning and why is it important? The process of learning by doing, experiential learning provides students with hands-on opportunities to develop skills, gain deeper understanding, and make connections from lessons in the classroom to the world around them.

The two-day event will provide the foundation and the “nuts and bolts” of the community school strategy implemented by United Way of Erie County, a nationally recognized best-practice backbone organization that launched the model in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2017. Learn more!
