“We are so impressed by United Way of Erie County and the work you all are doing with 16 Community Schools.”
“The speed of implementation and the thorough, thoughtful and measurable strategy is remarkable.”
“You all are doing it right.”
“What you have accomplished in such a short amount of time has not been done anywhere else.”
“There are so many great stories about United Way community schools in Erie County. We need to tell them nationally.”
These are just a few comments made by José Muñoz, Director of the Coalition for Community Schools at the Institute for Educational Leadership, Reuben Jacobson Director of Education Policy and Leadership Program and Senior Professorial Lecturer School of Education at American University and Joline Collins, Deputy Director of the Northeast Regional TAC Center during their time in Erie to present at the Jefferson Education Society Global Summit 2022. Moderated by Ben Speggen, Jefferson Educational Society Vice President, the discussion focused on how United Way as the backbone organization of the Community School model in Erie County, is co-creating systemic change through collaboration with school district administration, impact partners, lead partners and community funders.
