When students can see they can learn.
The barrier of vision has long been identified as a top priority for community schools. That's why United Way has partnered with Vision To Learn to bring mobile vision clinics including screenings, eye exams and new glasses at no cost to an estimated 250 students at community schools thanks to generous support from our donors. Schools included in this pilot include Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary, Edison Elementary School and Diehl Elementary, a community school.
Clinics kicked off this week and to say these moments were an impactful example of the Community Schools Model in action was an understatement!
